What is a residential
care home?

Residential care homes support people who need help with daily tasks like washing, dressing, or taking medication.

With shared living spaces and set routines, they offer community but can feel impersonal often with one carer for every 20 residents.

Mealtimes and bedtimes are usually fixed, and outings may be limited. Moving in often means leaving behind your home, garden, and pets and many people need to sell their property to fund the care.

What is live-in
care?

Live-in care provides one-to-one support from a dedicated carer in the comfort of your own home.

It’s completely tailored to you your routines, your preferences, your pace. Every day can be different. You stay close to family, pets, your garden, and everything familiar.

With more privacy, fewer health risks, and no need to move out, live-in care lets you keep your independence and leave your home to loved ones when the time comes.

Frequently asked questions

Live-in care means a professional carer stays with you in your own home, offering support and companionship 24 hours a day. They help with everything from personal care and medication to meals and daily activities — all tailored to your lifestyle and preferences.

We take time to understand you, your interests, and your care needs. Then we carefully choose a carer with the right personality and skills, helping build a trusting, comfortable relationship.

Absolutely! We believe it’s important you feel comfortable and happy, so we involve you and your family in selecting a carer who’s the best fit for you.

Don’t worry — we arrange for fully trained backup carers to step in whenever your regular carer takes holidays, is unwell, or unavailable. This way, your care and routine stay uninterrupted.

Costs depend on your individual needs, but many find live-in care a flexible and often more affordable alternative to residential care. Plus, you get to stay in the comfort of your own home.
